At Terry’s Electric, we are proud to have been the electrical contractor responsible for the comprehensive electrical systems at NeoCity Academy, Florida’s first net-zero energy high school. From underground to final, our team ensured that every wire, panel, and connection aligned with the school’s commitment to sustainability and cutting-edge education.
NeoCity Academy was designed to serve as a model for sustainable education, integrating advanced technologies and energy-efficient systems to create a learning environment that is both innovative and environmentally responsible.
Fun Facts
First in Florida: NeoCity Academy is the first net-zero energy high school in Florida, meaning it produces as much energy as it consumes annually.
Solar Power: The school’s rooftop hosts 650 self-ballasted solar panels generating 228 kW of energy, significantly reducing its carbon footprint.
Innovative Learning Spaces: The design includes flexible classrooms, collaboration labs, and a “mixer” space that encourages interaction and creativity among students and faculty.
Sustainability Awards: The project has received multiple accolades, including the AIA Orlando Sustainability Award and the US Green Building Council’s Climate Champion Award.
